  • Stop eating chametz before approximately 4 hours after sunrise (10:54).
  • Burn leftover chametz before approximately 5 hours after sunrise (11:57).
  • Prepare a candle or flame that will be able to burn safely for more than 24 hours. (For example: a Yahrzeit candle. This will be used to light the Yom Tov Candles on Tuesday night).
  • Light Yom Tov Candles -- 18 minutes before Sunset (6:59).
  • After lighting the candles, recite:

      Blessing for Yom Tov

    • Bo-ruch A-toh Ado-noi E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech Ho-olom A-sher Ki-de-sho-nu Be-mitz-vo-sov Ve-tzi-vo-nu Le-had-lik Ner Shel Yom Tov.

    • Bo-ruch A-toh Ado-noi E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech Ho-olom She-heche-yo-nu Ve-ki-yi-mo-nu Ve-higi-o-nu Liz-man Ha-zeh.
  • Begin the Seder after nightfall.
  • At the Seder, the first 1 oz. of Matzah should be eaten within 4 minutes.

  • Light Yom Tov Candles after nightfall, from a pre-existing flame (8:00), from a pre-existing flame.

    • Bo-ruch A-toh Ado-noi E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech Ho-olom She-heche-yo-nu Ve-ki-yi-mo-nu Ve-higi-o-nu Liz-man Ha-zeh.
  • On the second night begin counting of Omer every evening at the end of the Maariv (Evening) prayers until Shavuoth.
  • Seder begins after Nightfall.

  • We resume putting on Tefilin today for morning prayers.
